Chances are if you do healing meditations or any kind of energy work you are familiar with the seven primary Chakras. The main chakras form a straight line from the base of the spine to above the top of the head. Each of these energy wheels correspond to various mental, physical, emotional and spiritual conditions within the individual. When the chakras are aligned and functioning properly it creates harmony in body, mind and spirit.
Each chakra is also associated with a specific color and symbol. Corresponding chakra stones can be used to activate, clear and re-balance the various chakra points. Every stone has unique properties that enhance energy work.
When using stones for healing, cleanse and purify them with salt water prior to use. You can place them in a jar of salt water and allow them to sit, or simply wipe them clean with a damp cloth. This clears away residual energy from previous sessions. Once they have been cleared, recharge the stones by placing them in direct sunlight for a few hours, or even in a glass pyramid to further amplify their energies.
There are several techniques for doing chakra work with stones. You can do a healing session where you place stones on each chakra point, starting at the root and working your way up. You may also want to focus a healing session on one particular chakra if you are facing challenges in a specific area. For example, someone who is facing writer’s block or feeling stifled at work may want to focus on the sacral chakra to revitalize their creativity. Someone else who is feeling scattered or unfocused may want to target the root chakra to become more grounded and settled or the crown to help ease racing thoughts and anxieties.
Whether you choose to do sessions with just one or all the chakras, it’s important to use stones that have been cleansed and charged properly. Lie down in an area where you will be undisturbed and place the stones in the proper locations. Focus then on visualizing healing and cleansing energy moving up through each chakra point.
Take deep, slow breaths that are relaxing. As you inhale, visualize the healing energy moving up and through each chakra point. Allow the energy of the stones to amplify these healing energies. As you exhale, visualize releasing negativity, allowing it to be neutralized and carried away from you.
The best healing sessions usually last around 15 to 20 minutes, long enough to allow the energy to work, but not so long that you fall asleep or lose focus on the intent of the session. As you move to each chakra; you can focus on any associated specific issues to release, or simply cleanse and balance. If you feel that your energy gets “stuck” during this process, it may be wise to reflect on any corresponding issues that need to be addressed and cleared.
